Technogasm Extraordinaire: Thank You Rana Sobhany

There are few times in recent memory when it's been so fulfilling to be a digital geek - a consumer at the feet of the technoparazzi. Think about it - there haven't been many times since George Lucas showed us that Dewbacks could move and Jabba could walk that the collective technogeek universe heaved and uttered such mighty sighs.

Until about five years ago that is, when Apple iRevolutionized technology. iPod, iPhone, and now iPad are not only reshaping how we work, think and live - they are part of today's lexicon. Now the first iPad DJ, Rana Sobhany (@ranajune), is showing the rest of us just how it's done. I'm not cool enough to have seen Rana live (yet) but this girl's beats make me wish I was. Check out her
May 4 Wired profile. Then kick it up a notch with this YouTube video, courtesy of tech blogger Robert Scoble.

With two iPads, a basic mixer, and some low cost (some free) apps, Sobhany is revolutionizing the DJ scene - and taking the rest of us into the future of music with her. She even hints at plans to blend digital and analog through a project she's working on to debut later this year (hint: two iPads, one guitar: live).

Want more? Show Rana some due love and respect by checking out her blog and project Destroy the Silence. This girl is the real deal. And the collective technogeek universe has just shuddered and creamed its pants.
